Lotus F1 Team And Marlon Stockinger In Manila

Marlon-Stockinger-Lotus-F1-Manila-Mall-of-AsiaHere is a sight you don’t see every day: A Formula One car driving along the streets of Manila. Recently, the Lotus F1 Team and driver Marlon Stockinger stopped by here for some demonstration runs around the Mall of Asia complex.

They drew quite a crowd and completed a good number of laps with the single and the two seater car. Who knows, maybe there will be a Manila GP in the future?

High Up In Manila

Long time no post, I know. Time to revive the site a little bit, although as mentioned before, most things are now posted directly to my Facebook page and Twitter account.

So, here to kickstart the site back into life are some pictures taken from high up on the tallest building in the Philippines right now.

1962 Mercedes 180D & Your Imaginary Friends In Manila

Mercedes-180D-1962-Manila This lovely 1962 Mercedes 180D recently had an appearance in a music video and also happened to park in front of my lens on the day.

Even in a city where traffic is completely mad and driving is more a game of survival rather that simple travel, this vintage beauty made people smile and earned us thumps up from other drivers all over the place.

As to the music video where it played a supporting role, that was for Your Imaginary Friends‘ latest single and video which is embedded below.

Pictures: Cars of Manila

McLaren-MP4-12C-Manila-MakatiIt has arguably been a while since I last updated the site. Apologies for that. These days I mostly post stuff on the go and then straight to Facebook.

The below gallery is a random collection of shots from all over the place and with all sorts of cars in it. Just whatever happens to drive past or be parked by the side of the road.

Pictures: Excarvagant Carshow 2012 – Makati – Metro Manila

EXCARVAGANT CARSHOW 2012 Makati Metro Manila For quite a while did I notice that there seems to be a healthy car scene in the Philippines but I hadn’t seen many real life examples of it yet. All that changed the other night, with the Excarvagant Carshow 2012here in Makati. Only managed to get a few snaps, inclduing the only overhead shot of the night, but there sure were some nice motors around!

I still love anything to do with cars and am always looking for interesting vehicles to shoot. Just for the fun of it, not for money. If you have anything interesting (car, bike, tuned, rare, fast…) let me know! Always happy to go out, meet new people and get some good pictures done in the process. I’m based in Makati and some of my previous car stuff can be found here. My contact info is here.

Manila from the air

Manila Philippines from the airJust a few images from the last flight to Manila a few days ago. For the first time did my flight arrive during the day, so reason enough to at least try and capture some of the approach in pictures.

It’s a big place, Metro Manila, and at some point I will have to do this properly again and hire a helicopter, but for now a few snaps from a plane have to do.

Manx Grand Prix 2012 Pictures

Manx Grand Prix 2012 Isle of Man Road Racing Just a few pictures from the Manx Grand Prix Festival 2012, which is currently in full swing.

Like I mentioned a few times before, I don’t really do race shots but more the stuff around it, so any pictures are always a wide mix of things from here and there. A few videos are also to follow.

Isle of Man Railways – Island at War

Island-at-war-Isle-of-man-steam railway Earlier this month, Douglas Railway Station was transformed into a Home Guard’s military outpost as part of the Isle of Man Steam Railway “Island at War” events.

As that’s literally right next door to where I live, there was no excuse not to wander down and have a look. I hardly ever happens that I use filters, especially artsy “old look” ones, but somehow it seemed fitting for these.

London 2012 Olympics Manx Gold Medalist Peter Kennaugh Returning To The Isle Of Man

Peter-Kennaugh-Manx-Gold-Medal-Isle-of-man-London-2012-Olympics Today sure was a special day at Ronaldsway Airport, as it saw London 2012 Manx Gold Medalist Peter Kennaugh return to the Isle of Man.

I have honestly never seen the place so busy and there was a real Hero’s Welcome taking place, as I hope you can see from the pictures and the video.

Pictures from Tanay, Rizal, Philippines

Tanay Rizal Philippines Some more pics, this time from a short trip at the weekend.

While Manila is nice for shopping and going out, it’s not exactly the most scenic place around – so for some fresh air and beautiful landscapes, a trip out of town is the way to go.

These pics are from the area around Tanay, about 70km east of Metro Manila:
