Anaglyph 3D Pictures: 2011 Isle of Man Southern 100 Road Races

Some more picture material from the Southern 100. These are Anaglyph 3D images again, so you’ll need your red/cyan glasses to see the effect. Due to all scenes containing a lot of red and blue, these are greyscale only – any heavy red/blue content in images destroys the 3D effect on colour anaglyphs.

In case you can’t find your glasses or just aren’t bothered with all this 3D stuff, there’s a 2D reference gallery included as usual – no glasses required to see those.

Video: Mishap at the Southern 100

Southern 100 MishapJust a very quick video from tonight’s first race at the Southern 100 in Castletown.

A mishap at Castletown Corner, caught at 210fps. Luckily, the rider walked away without injuries and actually rode the bike back to the pits a little later.

There’s tons more stuff to come once I find the time:

Video: Isle of Man Southern 100 2011 – Monday’s Practice

Isle of Man Southern 100 2011 VideoHaven’t had time to put any pictures up yet (apart from the on-the-spot ones via my Twitter stream) but at least here’s some video from last night.

A look around the paddock and some of the classes out on practice – all not in the usual 720HD to faciliate faster upload but I hope it’s still good enough for a first impression of this year’s Southern 100.

The video is actually ripped from the 3D camera as that records two HD streams and can of course also simply be used as 2D box. Some more 2D and 3D stuff coming up when I find the time – hopefully soon:

Senior TT Centenary Parade Pictures

Another set of pictures to round up what I have from the Senior TT Centenary Parade last week.

Fourty-odd images from the stop at the original start line on quarter bridge road, as well as a few snaps from the Grandstand later on:

Senior TT Centenary Parade – Anaglyph 3D Pictures

Below are a number of Anaglyph 3D images from the Senior TT Centenary Parade that was organised by the vintage motorcycle club last sunday.

I figured it’d be nice to see those beautiful old machines in more than 2D, so grab your red/cyan glasses and let me know what you think:

Pictures: Joey Dunlop Memorial Lap 2011

Finally had a chance to look through them and one or two pictures from the Joey Dunlop Memorial Lap 2011 can now be found below. Pictures are from the start at the Grandstand in Douglas and from the end of the lap at Hillberry.

Usual applies: if I did snap you, feel free to use the picture on your facebook profile or anywhere else – as long as it’s non-commercial, it’s all yours…

3D And Another 2D Video: Joey Dunlop Memorial Lap 2011

Joey-Dunlop-Memorial-Lap-2011-3D-VideoContinuing with stuff from the world of 3D, here’s the Joey Dunlop Memorial Lap 2011 in three dimensions via YouTube. Done the same was as before via side-by-side video and YouTube’s 3D tag. As added extra, you can download the original side-by-side file here for your own use, such as 3D TV or any other device that supports 3D in this format.

For reference purposes, and because I noticed that the other video from Hillberry cut out before all riders had passed through, I’ve included the 2D version of it as well a bit further down – so if you were riding at the end of the convoy, worry not: I still caught you on tape.

The 2D version of the same video:

Video: Senior TT Centenary Parade

senior-tt-centenary-paradeThe exact date of the first Senior TT Race on the famous Isle of Man Mountain Course was commemorated today with a parade lap of 100 vintage machines, a hundred years to the day after Oliver Godfrey’s victory.

The parade set off from the Grandstand and stopped at the original start line on Quarter Bridge Road in Douglas, where a commemorative plaque was unveiled. The event was organised by the Isle of Man branch of the Vintage Motorcycle Club:

Videos From The Joey Dunlop Memorial Lap 2011

Joey-Dunlop-Memorial-Lap-2011Two videos from yesterday’s Joey Dunlop Memorial Lap, organised be the Joey Dunlop Foundation.

The first one shows the hundreds of participants setting off from the Grandstand, while the second one catches them from Hillberry on the TT course on their way back.

There’s a truckload of pictures to come as well – still fighting my way through them & will post everything later.

3D Video: Isle of Man TT 2011 Parade Laps

3D isle-of-man-tt-2011-parade-laps-videoHere are the various parade laps during TT 2011 in 3D. You’ll need your red/cyan glasses again for this one.

The content is the same as the 2D video of the parade laps posted earlier, with the only difference being that this one was taken with a 3D camera and uploaded as side-by-side video, which YouTube’s 3D tag will then convert to 3D video that can be viewed on your normal screen.
