Earlier this month, Douglas Railway Station was transformed into a Home Guard’s military outpost as part of the Isle of Man Steam Railway “Island at War” events.
As that’s literally right next door to where I live, there was no excuse not to wander down and have a look. I hardly ever happens that I use filters, especially artsy “old look” ones, but somehow it seemed fitting for these.
Today sure was a special day at Ronaldsway Airport, as it saw London 2012 Manx Gold Medalist Peter Kennaugh return to the Isle of Man.
I have honestly never seen the place so busy and there was a real Hero’s Welcome taking place, as I hope you can see from the pictures and the video.
Today saw the annual Santa Dash take place, with no less than 126 Santas running around the streets of Douglas.
Below are a few shots and a short video from the event.
The Dash was won by Kevin Loundes, ahead of Ryan Fairclough in second and Alan Corlett in third place.

Footage is from Monday and Tuesday as I sadly didn’t have time on the other days.
These are only a few bits taken on the days – maybe, if I get the time at some point, I’ll upload everything as one big archive – we’ll see…
Just another little video from the Southern 100, this time practice and racing from Tuesday.
Sadly didn’t have time to do all days this year but that doesn’t mean I can’t make the material stretch. There’s more pictures, as well as slomo and 3D video still to come.

Some more picture material from the Southern 100. These are Anaglyph 3D images again, so you’ll need your red/cyan glasses to see the effect. Due to all scenes containing a lot of red and blue, these are greyscale only – any heavy red/blue content in images destroys the 3D effect on colour anaglyphs.
In case you can’t find your glasses or just aren’t bothered with all this 3D stuff, there’s a 2D reference gallery included as usual – no glasses required to see those.

Just a very quick video from tonight’s first race at the Southern 100 in Castletown.
A mishap at Castletown Corner, caught at 210fps. Luckily, the rider walked away without injuries and actually rode the bike back to the pits a little later.

Haven’t had time to put any pictures up yet (apart from the on-the-spot ones via my Twitter stream) but at least here’s some video from last night.
A look around the paddock and some of the classes out on practice – all not in the usual 720HD to faciliate faster upload but I hope it’s still good enough for a first impression of this year’s Southern 100.
The video is actually ripped from the 3D camera as that records two HD streams and can of course also simply be used as 2D box. Some more 2D and 3D stuff coming up when I find the time – hopefully soon:
